Thunder Over Louisville is a dazzling kickoff to the 3 week long Kentucky Derby Festival. One of the largest firework displays in North America and one of the top five air shows in the country, it attracts over half a million people every year. Downtown Louisville will be buzzing with people from all over the country to watch the afternoon air show over the river followed by the breathtaking drone and firework show in the evening. Popular viewing areas include the Waterfront Park or various areas in the downtown and Nulu neighborhood but show up early to snag a good viewing spot!
