Chase and I met on a dating app, both frustrated with dating when it seemed like everyone around us had already been blessed and happily married. This was after, of course, we had already matched on that same dating app a year before and let the connection fizzle out before ever meeting. I always remembered Chase as the one from the dating apps that got away. And he wasn’t easy to forget… especially because his volleyball team started playing on the court next to mine every week at the same time my team’s games were scheduled. I saw him every week at volleyball for about a year; several times I had tried to build the courage to go say “hello, remember me?” But thankfully God had other plans. We ended up rematching a year after our first hopeful but short-lived online encounter and everything just clicked. It was so obvious to us that God was waiting until the right moment to bring us together. Since then, we have been so blessed to make so many memories together. We share our most important values, goals and interests, and both have wonderful families that love and support us. We’re deeply grateful for how clearly God’s timing was at work in the beginning of our story. Looking back, it’s undeniable that He brought us together at just the right moment — not a day (or year) too soon or too late. His faithfulness has been evident from the very start, and we continue to trust Him as we begin this new chapter together. Here’s a quick look at the 2 wonderful years we’ve had together and hopefully a preview of the adventurous years to come!

To all our beloved guests who will be traveling to Kentucky: we are so excited for you to visit and experience all that Louisville has to offer. Due to the events scheduled in the city, we ask that you please consider booking your travel plans as soon as possible (see the Thunder Over Louisville tab for more information). We've reserved blocks at the three hotels below, but if booking accommodations outside of the provided hotel blocks, consider the NuLu, St. Matthew’s and Butchertown neighborhoods that are central to the wedding festivities and are near lively local spots to explore.

Located walking distance to a great shopping &amp; dining area, this hotel is great for those who prefer to avoid downtown area traffic and logistics. Free guest parking included &amp; the block date range is wider for those wanting to extend their stay and explore more that Louisville has to offer. Approximately 12 minutes from the wedding venue.

Across from street from the Oxmoor Center Mall and Mall St. Matthews, this bourbon themed hotel will give you a true taste of Kentucky. Free parking and free breakfast included. Approximately 12 minutes from the venue.

Residence Inn Louisville East/Oxmoor

For those wanting to be in the heart of downtown, this hotel is located in the NuLu neighborhood, where restaurants and shop are walkable. Free street parking available or overnight guest parking available for $29/night. Approximately 6 minutes from the venue.

If you’re here for a “go with the flow” experience, please note that the best flows start in the NuLu, St. Matthew’s and Butchertown neighborhoods. These areas offer plenty of restaurants, shops, and things to do and all are full of charm, walkable dining and fun local spots to explore.

1. Experience Thunder Over Louisville- the dazzling kickoff to Derby season on Saturday, April 18th (the day after the wedding). This is the #1 recommended activity of the weekend besides the wedding, of course.2. Tour one of the many historic and neat bourbon distilleries around town.3. Visit some of the many incredible restaurants in town. Louisville is most definitely a foodie destination!4. Calling all baseball fanatics- check out the iconic Louisville Slugger Museum downtown.5. Tour the historic race track Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby.

Thunder Over Louisville

Saturday, April 18th, 2026

Thunder Over Louisville is a dazzling kickoff to the 3 week long Kentucky Derby Festival. One of the largest firework displays in North America and one of the top five air shows in the country, it attracts over half a million people every year. Downtown Louisville will be buzzing with people from all over the country to watch the afternoon air show over the river followed by the breathtaking drone and firework show in the evening. Popular viewing areas include the Waterfront Park or various areas in the downtown and Nulu neighborhood but show up early to snag a good viewing spot! We hope our guests can make the most of their time in town and enjoy this unique Louisville experience! Be sure to plan ahead and book early to ensure proper arrangements are made, as this is the largest annual event in the region.
